This month, Jane Crier, an experienced member of the block discounting community, has joined the Rivers team as Block Operations Manager.
With more than 30 years’ experience working in finance, Jane began her career at Barclays where she stayed for 10 years before moving into business finance at Hitachi Capital. She has specialised in block discounting since 2007 when she joined Siemens Financial Services, followed by time at the Hampshire Trust Bank and Aldermore Bank.
Jane is a highly respected member of the business finance and block discounting communities. Throughout her career she has taken the time and care to build relationships with her contemporaries and her clients. She has established an approach that seeks to understand and support businesses in order to help meet their financing needs responsibly.
Jane joins Peter Jamison, who heads up Rivers’ incubator block discounting service. Peter has worked in asset finance for almost 50 years, combining experience in finance firms with time spent in brokerages. He has extensive experience working in block discounting and has been instrumental in establishing the structure of the specialised incubator block discounting service at Rivers Leasing, which launched in December 2021 to provide funding lines to new and smaller lenders.
Jane and Peter are supported by an experienced team at Rivers, as well as strong partnerships that provide additional infrastructure designed to scale as the incubator block discounting service grows.
Jane said: “I have always liked working in block discounting, speaking customers who are end users and helping them with their business goals. While there’s always been block funders for companies with established books, smaller businesses haven’t always been able to access the levels of funding they need to grow. Rivers’ incubator block discounting is a wonderful opportunity to offer people the chance to build their businesses at grass roots level. It’s exciting to join them at this pivotal juncture and go on that journey with the team.”
